I found this perfect piece of red oak today—not too red or light. It seems fitting to frame a print dominated by live oaks with a cousin wood.

Linseed oil will darken it some while allowing the grain structure to show. There is enough width to match the grain; The tighter patterns appeal to me.

I’ll save the black lacquer for another print. A print of a dense bamboo stand that would look nice with it.
